We just can't get enough butterbeer in our Harry Potter-loving lives! We've made hot butterbeer and boozy butterbeer, and now we've finally got the traditional version for the whole family!
Inspired by the original at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, it's a sweet and buttery treat that will transport you right into Hogsmeade.
It's super easy to make, and while you don't HAVE TO make the foam topping, it's really worth taking the extra time to make your drink into something really special.
Making Butterbeer
It's super straightfoward to make, but there might be a couple of ingredients you need to pick up, so you'll want to plan ahead.
Simply mix the main drink ingredients together, then make the foam topping and add it on top. It's really that simple!
Butterbeer Ingredients
- 1 12 oz. bottle cream soda (chilled)
- 1 t. butter flavoring
Foam Topping Ingredients
- ยฝ cup caramel or butterscotch ice cream
- 1 tsp imitation butter
- 2 oz. cream soda
Combine the drink ingredients together and stir. I recommend that your cream soda is well-chilled, because you don't want to add ice to this.
Next, mix up the topping; you can use a frother or a hand mixer; you'll want to mix for a couple of minutes until it's nice and foamy. (Think dalgona coffee!)
Let the ice cream melt a bit before you start mixing, it will get you a smoother finished product.
Spoon a layer of foam on top of your butterbeer, and you're done! It's so easy, and SO delicious!
