Salted Caramel Dalgona Coffee

This post contains affiliate links.Salted Caramel Dalgona Coffee

Dalgona coffee has been all the rage lately on TikTok, where it's also known as whipped coffee or beaten coffee. We decided to switch it up a little bit by adding some caramel, to give us a delicous Salted Caramel Dalgona Coffee variation!

It's surprisingly easy to make this viral beverage treat, and the hardest part is having the patience to whip the foam up as much as it needs to be whipped! You can use a manual whisk, an electric milk frother, or even a handheld mixer to make your foam.

Dalgona Coffee History

Dalgona coffee originated in India, but was first brought to social media by South Korean actor Jung Il-woo, after he was served the drink in Macau, and it was then featured on South Korean television show Stars' Top Recipe at Fun-Staurant. From there, the #dalgonacoffeechallenge took off with South Korean YouTubers, and from there it hit TikTok, where it truly went viral.

The name “dalgona” comes from the foam resembling a Korean honeycomb toffee, and it's also known as whipped or beaten coffee.

Want to try your hand at Dalgona Coffee?

Salted Caramel Dalgona Coffee

Gather your ingredients:

  • 2 tbsp of instant coffee
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 2 tbsp hot water
  • Salted Caramel Syrup
  • Milk of choice (This works well with non-dairy milks as well!)
  • Ice cubes

Whisk together instant coffee, sugar, and hot water until peaks are formed. (You can use a hand whisk, a hand mixer or a stand mixer. Your choice)

Fill a glass with ice cubes and top with desired amount of Salted Caramel Syrup. If you just want a little flavor go for a teaspoon, but if you’re looking for a big bunch of caramel sweetness you might want to go with an ounce.

Top the rest of your cup with milk of choice.

Put one to three scoops of the whipped coffee mixture on top and serve immediately!

Don't forget to post it on social media, or did it even happen?!?!
