DIY Geek Halloween Costumes for Kids

This post contains affiliate links.

We've always worked really hard on Max's Halloween costumes, so we start the conversation early at our house. Invariably, we end up with some sort of pop culture geek costume, as you'll see below. It's generally a reflection of what Max is “into” in any given year, and although he still loves Star Wars, we're kind of running out of ideas for his costume in that theme, so we've had to expand in more recent years. (The 2019 costume was just finalized yesterday, so you'll have to check back in a few weeks to see what we're up to! I'm pretty excited about it.)
In the meantime, here are some favorite DIY Geeky costumes for kids, from our own site and some of our friends.

Geeky Halloween for Kids

The 10th Doctor: We originally put this together for SV ComicCon, but Max loved it enough to re-wear it for Halloween! Want more versions of The Doctor? This post will help you make your costume for the Doctor of your choice! Looking for yourself? Check out these Tardis dresses on Etsy!

Star vs. The Forces of Evil from Mama's Geeky

Max from Where the Wild Things Are

Ash Ketchum of Pokemon fame, from Building Our Story

Han Solo circa A New Hope era. The R2D2 was also his costume from the year before.

Spiderman Noir from Into the Spiderverse, from Desert Chica

Classic Luke Skywalker complete with homemade lightsaber slash Death Star pinata hitting stick.

Who doesn't love that sweetheart Luna Lovegood? From Frugal Family Times

Max is super into retro video games, so it made sense when he said he wanted to go as Link from Zelda!

Not sure you want to take on the Halloween DIY? Our friends at HalloweenCostumes.com are always available to help with all your costume needs, year round!Shop Now

Welcome, I'm so glad you're here! Thing number one, I'm tall. I've been told I should have a warning on my blog, so here it is! I am taller in real life than I appear on the internet.
