DIY Lego Storage Boxes

This post contains affiliate links.

Quick and easy to create with just a few supplies, DIY LEGO Bricks make great gift wrapping, kids room storage solutions or birthday party goodie boxes. I mean, sure, you could buy fancy LEGO storage boxes, but these are so fun and easy to make!

DIY Lego Box Materials

  • Paper Mache Boxes – square and rectangle, assorted sizes
  • Craft Foam – coordinating colors
  • Acrylic Craft Paint – coordinating colors
  • Paintbrush – 1” wash
  • Permanent Marker – fine tip
  • Liquid Glue – fine tip applicator
  • Circles to Trace – in sizes to coordinate with boxes

DIY Lego Box Instructions

Base coat square and rectangle paper mache boxes and lids in LEGO colors of your choice.  Set aside to dry. Apply a second coat, if necessary. Customize your colors to fit your event or décor.

Trace circles on to craft foam with fine tip permanent marker.  Use items around your home as a template, like the base of the acrylic craft paint bottles.  Cut out and stack craft foam circles three high. Rectangle boxes require 18 circles and square boxes require 12 circles.

Attach the three layers of foam circles together with liquid glue, set aside to dry.  Square boxes require 4 LEGO knobs/studs and rectangle boxes require 6 LEGO knobs/studs.

Once glue is dry, attach LEGO knobs/studs to top of paper mache boxes with liquid glue.  Let glue set completely.

LEGO Brick Boxes are quick and easy to create with the kiddos and are a great exercise in color and counting!

Welcome, I'm so glad you're here! Thing number one, I'm tall. I've been told I should have a warning on my blog, so here it is! I am taller in real life than I appear on the internet.
