I really love the idea of the Cookie in a Jar kit, providing someone with most of what they need to make cookies, but I've often found that I don't love the finished cookie as much as I want to. When I came across this recipe for white chocolate cranberry cookies, though, I knew I had to try them, and they really are delicious!
I've made a few of these to keep on hand, for hostess gifts, or one of those days when I get a nagging need to make cookies.
This fills a 1 quart jar pretty perfectly, and this recipe makes one jar's worth of mix. Just layer the ingedients in order, and be sure to tamp them down in between layers.
I used my jar filling funnel to help keep things clean, but it isn't a requirement or anything.
- 1/3 C. White Sugar
- 1/3 C. Packed Brown Sugar
- 3/4 C. All-Purpose Flour
- 1/2 t. baking powder
- 1/8 t. baking soda
- 1/8 t. salt
- 1 C. Oats (Quick Cook)
- 1 C. Dried Cranberries
- 1 C. White Chocolate Chips (Amount is approximate, I just filled the jar the rest of the way)
I also created a label to fit under the ring on top of the jar, with the required additional ingredients and baking instructions. I just cut it out and screwed the ring over it to hold it in place.
I've created a PDF with this label on it, and you can download the jar label here! Consider it an early holiday gift, from me to you. ๐
