I'm slowly getting to where I can see what I'm gonna look like in 4 months, 4 weeks and one day! (My siggy ticker on my message boards gives me the day-by-day tally… I don't know if it makes the time go faster or slower!)
I found this “tiara” on eBay for only $.99! It came to like $11.00 with shipping, so I figured even if I didn't like it, it was cheap and I can always resell it on eBay again… but now I'm concerned… I had forgotten about the necklace and earrings and worry that it's all too much.
What do you think?
The necklace and earrings belonged to my great grandmother, and I'm thrilled to be able to wear them for the wedding; I'm totally willing to ditch the tiara, but I really can't decide. The set isn't diamonds or anything, it's crystal, but the setting is amazing art deco, and we have so few family heirlooms, I value what we do have! My mom, thankfully, had the earrings made to pierced a few years ago, makes it a much more wearable piece!
On the advice of my sister and mom, I'm skipping the blusher… I agree when Katie said that it would seem a bit fussy, given the simple lines and shorter length of my dress. I wonder now if that fuss is coming right back into the picture with the sparkly headband tiara dealie… please, tell me your thoughts! LOL
I also got my veil on eBay, for about $25.00 with shipping… I really like the darker color on it, I think it'll look awesome with the trim on my dress… it's elbow length; I don't think you can really tell that in the photos.
Anyway, here's a sneak peek of me as bride… of course, my hair is flat (but that's my basic concept) and I have no makeup on, but you get the gist…
Added: Here's a better pic of the veil itself… I couldn't get it to upload last night… it's very simple, and I don't even have a comb or anything holding it in for these pics, just a barette kind of jerry-rigged, so it's not very neat looking up top, but there it is! (It has a pencil edge at the bottom; I think I might have cut that off in the photo; just a seam all the way around; it doesn't just end naked, KWIM?
Wow! I just realized I look kinda nekkid in that first pic! LOL
I just pulled the straps of my tank down, I swear!
I love the tiara and I love the jewelry, but I’m not sure I love them together, KWIM? It’s not that they’re fussy–they just don’t seem to go together
I think I need to see it all with the dress. We’ll take pics on Thursday, ok? And you can’t really see the veil at all in what you posted. I didn’t notice you were wearing one until you mentioned it in the post! oh, andI think I speak for all your blog readers…. your posts are way too far and few… your adoring public wants to know what is happening in Lizz-world!
yeah–what Katie said! =)
I like the tiara, but it may be a bit much. How about a tiara made with small white flowers instead?
I like the veil.
On your wedding day you will shine on your own so you don’t need any jewelry! That being said, love the Tiara but agree with everyone else, it just may be a bit much. Probably would need to see the whole thing together.
ITA with Jen… love the peice separately… not sure that I love them together kwim?
Whatever you decide, you are going to be gorgoeus on your big day!
goregous girl!
your jewelery is STUNNING
So we were sitting at supper last night, and DH (who stalks all the blogs I link) said “you know, I really like the tiara she picked, but seeing that I’m outnumbered by a bunch of other women, I think I better keep my mouth shut.” =)
i love your jewelry set, it is just beautiful! i say wear whatever makes you happiest! if that means covered head to toe in BLING…do your thing!
cheers!
