We've had such a busy couple of weeks, I've been neglecting the blog, but we've been busy enjoying the unseasonably gorgeous weather and each other's company!
There have been some recent changes at Jamie's work, so, I am thrilled to announce, he now gets every other Saturday off! (And the Saturdays he does work are half days!)
It might not seem like much to some, but after 4 years of a 6 day work week and countless missed activities because of work, this is a HUGE improvement in our day to day life.
Our first “free” Saturday, Jamie had his buddies over for a gaming night, and last weekend we met up with a bunch of Nesties at the San Francisco Zoo for Max's first official zoo visit! (Katie took him to Oakland once, but she didn't let him look at too many animals, and there were no visible animals at Zoo Lights, so this was the “real” first trip!
Visiting Aunt Amelia at the ARC (Animal Resource Center) where she is interning this year… she's been volunteering there for years, but was chosen this year as one of 2 interns… she gets a paycheck and a walkie talkie and everything! Max digs having someone on the inside at the Zoo… it makes him the coolest kid around! Amelia was able to join us for lunch, and we don't get to see her nearly enough, so that was great.
The five-day-old, six-foot-tall newborn giraffe! We weren't sure if we'd be able to see her, since she hasn't offically been introduced to the public yet, but we were
able to catch a glimpse of her and her mama… having a snack!
On Sunday, we celebrated Nana's birthday (which was actually this past Tuesday, the 3rd) Jamie and I hosted; we had crepes and fruit (soo good!) and then loaded up into our cars and headed into Niles for a trip on the Niles Canyon Railroad It's a 1.5 hour ride on a historic train through Niles Canyon… very cute! Faith is *way* into trains these days, so we've been wanting to take her for a while. Max did great… apparently trains are much like… oh, I don't know… NyQuil?
Exhibit A:
One good thing is that my sister *finally* managed to get a nice shot of both of our parents with both of our kiddos!
So that's what we've been up to! I've been sewing, too… I'll post those later this week/weekend… thanks for checking in!
Did Amelia cut her hair??
So spending family time is much more important than blogging but I do enjoy your updates! Great photo of the 3 of you and LOVE the photo of your parents with Max and Faith. That needs to be framed.
I’m stealing that picture for my facebook!
(Yes, Katie, I did!)
THe weather has been really fabulous lately (I’m in SF).I really need to get out to the zoo, was it pricey?
