I'm still here, and I'm still alive, if barely.
I had a crazy deadline week at work last week, a crazy busy week that was cut short at about 3am on Thursday morning, with a trip to the ER, thanks to my 102 degree fever and unbearable joint pain.
A four-day hospital stay later, with a diagnosis of a kidney infection (that was thankfully able to be treated with antibiotics!) and I'm on the mend and almost back to normal.
It's easy for me to almost forget how close I can come to being incredibly ill, sometimes. This came as a good wakeup call, for sure.
Giving thanks for amazing doctors and medical technology.
