I have always been a high-stress dental patient; I had some less than great experiences when I was a kid, so it has always been a significant source of stress for me. When Max (finally!) started getting teeth and we needed to find a dentist for him, it was really important to us that we find someone he could trust, and that they would help set him up for a lifetime of good dental habits.
One of the most important parts of setting your child up for dental success and less stressful visits is to make sure their dentist is one who truly cares, and who specializes in children. There’s no reason for your kids to hate going to the dentist!
