What I Wore: AMAs Edition

I attended the 2016 AMA's as a guest of Kohl's, and they provided me with everything shown below,
but I was not required to post about it. This post contains affiliate links.

A couple of weeks ago, Jessi and I spent the weekend in LA as Kohls VIPs, being treated like princesses and attending the American Music Awards. It was, in short, incredible. They outfitted us for two days' worth of shooting and events, AND we were styled, made up and hairstyled by pros.

Celebrity stylist Negar Ali Kline was on hand to create our looks, after getting style surveys and info about what we love in advance of the event. Basically, she nailed it. For Saturday, I ended up going with the second thing I tried on, and for Sunday's big event I didn't even get past the first dress she offered up.

Day One: Behind the Scenes Filming

Saturday's outfits were more casual; I will wear this dress until it falls apart, it's so me. Comfy and cute, it's from LC Lauren Conrad and I love it so much I wore it again for Thanksgiving dinner, with black tights and tall boots.

(The other dress I tried on, btw, was from Lauren Conrad's Disney collection; I loved it, but it was just a bit too short in front for my comfort level. It would be ADORABLE on a normal-height person!)

Day Two: Awards Show Time!

So I have to tell you, I'm pretty sad that this dress isn't available (for unknown reasons) on Kohls.com. It's from the LC Lauren Conrad Runway Collection; it was just released in September though, so I don't know if it sold out or if it hasn't made it on the site yet. But I love it so much!

The touches that Negar added really pulled the whole look together, and then my makeup was magical as well.

My makeup was done both days by the extraordinary Kendra Richards. Is it weird I want to frame this photo in my house? Channeling my inner Adele, clearly.

I've always been a fan of Kohls, but have to admit, it wouldn't have been my first stop for a red carpet look. Seeing all of the #KohlsVIPs gorgeous looks (the guys got outfitted too!) really changed my mind though, and reminded me that Kohls is good for so much more than household goods and fashion accessories.

    You both looked stunning!

I shop at Kohl’s a lot, and I wouldn’t really think about them first for “red carpet” looks. But clearly I am mistaken.

Welcome, I'm so glad you're here! Thing number one, I'm tall. I've been told I should have a warning on my blog, so here it is! I am taller in real life than I appear on the internet.
