Wedding on the brain

What? It's only been a couple of weeks!
If I'm still *this* obsessed in a couple of months, then I've gone too far…

Anyway, the date is December 10… a couple people had asked. We actually had the date set before he proposed, so that's been known for a while! LOL
It has a couple of things going for it (besides being a Sunday, so we'll save a few bucks there!) It will, in 2006, be the 4th anniversary of when Jamie and I re-met, 8 years after high school.
It's also the week after Austin, Jamie's best friend and a dear friend of mine, is ordained a priest in the Episopal Church… we'll be the first marriage ceremony Austin ever performs!

Actually, I think that was the only other thing I had to add… I'm also telling myself that it's OK to be this obsessed right now, since I won't be able to do much this spring… we're starting a total kitchen remodel sometime next month, so that will be taking up most of our time and energy a while, when the wedding will have to go on the back burner.

On no, I lied! We've decided a couple of other things as well! Jamie and I are going to make the favors together… because it's so close to Christmas, we're going to make ornaments… Jamie will cut shapes out of craft plywood (probably hearts) and we'll paint one side and put our names and the date (get a stamp made) and I'll decoupage some Christmas scrapbook paper on the other side… drill a hole, string a ribbon and voila!

We're also (not so much me, but Jamie with some help from Austin and Dave!) going to make all of the beer for the reception! This is not only a money saving idea (about 60¢ per bottle!) but it's something the boys enjoy doing together and I get to make personalized labels! LOL
We're going to do “Lizz & Jamie PORTER” (the type of beer AND our last name!) and “Fat Cat Wheat” in honor of Geoffrey… I'll most likely put his picture on the label for that one!

So that's where we're at now! I'd love to go dress shopping, but I've been on a roll with this weight loss (13 lbs. since December 1!) so I'll wait a couple more months I think…
