I think we might be having some sort of language explosion around here! Since I last posted about Max's words, he's gained a bunch more!

Besides the follwing words, he's doing a LOT more mimicking; he'll make an attempt at just about any word you give him, with varying rates of success.

mote – the remote control (or anything with buttons, really)
shoes – self-explanatory
socks – goes with shoes, duh!
opeen – open; used whenever he can't figure something out. If you can open the thing he wants, he's thrilled. If it can't be opened, he launches into “Why?” in response to everything you say. (ie: “Opeen” handing me a toy can of beans. “I can't open it, Max.” “Why?” taking it back and looking at it frustratedly “Because it's play food.” “Why?” “Because it encourages the development of your imagination.” “Why?” “Because we want you to grow up with a vivid imagination and the ability to pretend.” “Why?” “So you can write the Great American Novel” “Why?” “So you'll have lots of money, like Dean Koontz and Stephen King.” “Why?” “So you can take care of your loving parents in the manner to which they'd like to be accustomed.” “Oh.” Or something along those lines.)
all done – used when “Guck!” doesn't work to get himself out of his high chair/car seat
one, two, free – His day care provider is starting to work on numbers with him! He'll count to three for you, if it strikes his fancy! LOL
