Upcycled Egg Carton Seed Starters

This post contains affiliate links.Egg carton seed starters

We did our first “real” vegetable garden last summer, and got the bug for sure, and this year's is bigger and better! These upcycled egg carton seed starters are a great way to get your garden started off on the right foot, because you can get them going safe in the house before they're exposed to all the elements outside.

It doesn't take much to get going, just a paper egg carton and a few other things that you probably have around the house. What are your favorite veggies to plant? We love our tomato and strawberry plants the most, I'd have to say!

Egg Carton Seed Starter Supplies

  • Empty egg cartons
  • Potting soil
  • Seeds of your choosing
  • Mini craft sticks
  • Permanent marker
  • Utility knife

Seed Starter Instructions

Collect your egg cartons and cut out a panel from the lid using your utility knife.

Fill the bottom half of the cartons with potting soil.

Using your Permanent marker write the names of the plants on the mini popsicle sticks.

Put in your seeds, one plant per cell and water.

Insert the sticks in their designated areas.

Close the lid and stick the cartons near a light source to grow until your garden is ready for them.

DON’T FORGET TO WATER THEM REGULARLY!

Welcome, I'm so glad you're here! Thing number one, I'm tall. I've been told I should have a warning on my blog, so here it is! I am taller in real life than I appear on the internet.
