Reverb10 – Try

December 18 – Try What do you want to try next year? Is there something you wanted to try in 2010? What happened when you did / didn’t go for it?

There are things I *say* I'd like to try… skydiving, bungee jumping… but when it comes down to it, I think I'd either wimp out or do it buy not enjoy it. When I think about things I want to try, I keep coming back to baking.

I love to bake. (Hate cooking, love baking.)

I want to try making something beyond cakes and cookies; I'm thinking baklava (I've never done anything with phyllo or anything similar) or macarons. Real frenchie ones, not those coconut atrocities. I see lots of delicious looking desserts on blogs, I watched Top Chef Just Desserts religiously… I'd love to try some more complicated recipes in 2011.

As for what I tried in 2010? Nothing. It was absolutely a “Play it Safe” kind of year; nothing to get in the way of my surgery.
Oh! Except mushrooms. I tried those this year. Not as gross as I thought.

Baking is a great option, you know. Even if you don't do things 100% perfectly, you still wind up with something tasty. Not to mention: Whoa, your house smells fab.

Welcome, I'm so glad you're here! Thing number one, I'm tall. I've been told I should have a warning on my blog, so here it is! I am taller in real life than I appear on the internet.
