Reverb10 – New Name

December 23 – New Name Let’s meet again, for the first time. If you could introduce yourself to strangers by another name for just one day, what would it be and why?

This actually could have been my name; my mom has always told me that she loved the name “Sayard” although she doesn't remember where she first heard it (“Maybe a book, or I heard it on TV” she says) and ever since high school, when I wanted to be an English teach who wrote amazing novels on the weekends and summer vacations, my nom de plume has been Sayard Morgan.
Sayard, my almost name and Morgan, my middle name and one that represents several generations of family.

Reverb10 has done a lot to make me feel, once again, more like a writer, and so I am choosing to take on my alter ego author name for this day.

The book your mother read is most likely part of Conrad Richter's trilogy of novels — The Trees, The Fields, The Town. Here's the Amazon link http://www.amazon.com/Fields-Second-Book-Awakening-Trilogy/dp/0821409794

Elizabeth Montgomery and Hal Holbrook played Sayward and her husband in a TV adaptation.

Welcome, I'm so glad you're here! Thing number one, I'm tall. I've been told I should have a warning on my blog, so here it is! I am taller in real life than I appear on the internet.
