NaBloPoMo: More than just an overwhelming acronym

NaBloPoMo_November_large_0First things first.
What is it? National Blog Posting Month.
But it's more than that. It's a community of writers, who commit to write on their blogs, every day, for the month of November.
There are other confusing acronyms for writers this month. NaNoWriMo, National Novel Writing Month, involves not-necessarily-online writers attempting (and often succeeding!) to write a 50,000 word novel in the month.

I signed on for NaBloPoMo this month, for a couple of reasons. I feel like I haven't done any real writing in months. I've been sharing sponsored content, and I always try to provide quality writing for my clients there, but I miss writing for the sake of writing. You know, capital “W” Writing.

Stringing together words, creating beautiful turns of phrase, like beads on a necklace.
I miss that.
And so, I write.

I'll be posting my #25DaysofHolidayIdeas posts Monday through Friday, but will post my own writing on the weekends. I need to get back to it. Writing is a muscle, and I worry that mine have atrophied.

I did a daily writing challenge back in 2010, With Reverb10; it's what got me hooked on Twitter, and the community that existed there.

So here we go, NaBloPoMo!

Please leave a comment if you're participating too, so I have a good place to start in my reading other participants' posts!

PS: I love you Melisa! 🙂

Me too me too! Decided to take the plunge and launch my blog, (ready or not – not) with #NaBloPoMo. Pretty sure I would stew and sit on my online real estate for several more months if I hadn’t come across this cool invitation. I look forward to checking out your blog and your November entries!

I technically do this every year, because I have a month-long blog series in November. But, this year, I’m actually ‘joining’ in on the fun.

    So exciting!

Welcome, I'm so glad you're here! Thing number one, I'm tall. I've been told I should have a warning on my blog, so here it is! I am taller in real life than I appear on the internet.
