Alternate Title: A love letter to my fellow SBBs

Back in February, around the time I found out that I'd been chosen as a Shaklee Blogger, my mom's group also started a weight loss group. Our local group, which is based on Facebook, has about 250 members, but our new spin-off group, which would be focused on weight loss and related topics, is only about 75.
This is a love letter to those ladies.

Hey girls,
I've been wanting to write this for a while.
Thanks.
I know we're all on our own journeys, whether it's to drop pounds, just tone up or to kick some serious butt (Hello, CF ladies!) but I love that we're doing it together.
You guys are totally my secret weapon in this Shaklee180 journey I've been on.
Yes, I have a Shaklee Blogger Facebook group too, but you know me better. We've known each other through thick and thin (not just waistlines) and in good times and in bad.
I love that about us.
I love that when someone posts “I'm having trouble waking up in time for bootcamp in the morning!” the solution someone else comes up with is to say “I'll be up! I'll text you!” When one of finds a magic swimsuit, she shares the info and we ALL buy it (seriously, almost all of us!) and now we'll look the like world's most unsynchronized synchronized swimming team if we ever decide to go to the pool together.
We share recipes and workouts, favorite workout gear and snack ideas, commiserate over setbacks and celebrate reaching those glorious, glorious goals.
We've virtually cheered each other on through first 5ks, Crossfit competitions, mudruns, first post-giving birth workouts, everything. We have cheered each other on through dropping more than 400 lbs together!
Shaklee is working for me, there's no question about that. But it's as much about you ladies as it is about the smoothies and bars.
Because without you, none of this would be as sweet.
Kisses and love (and a Skinny Girl margarita!)
Lizz

As I write this, I have lost 40 lbs since March 1. FORTY POUNDS!
I can now button my “goal jeans,” even if it doesn't look pretty, and the clothes I tried on in my month 2 video are rapidly getting too big for me.

I've lost 19 inches overall, and have gone from a size 16 jeans to a confortably loose 12, and hope to be full-time in my size 10s any day now! I can wear a size medium t-shirt, and I've even lost about 1/2 a shoe size (which is amazing for a bigfoot like me!)

So all of this is well and good, but really, here's what it boils down to: I'm happy in my skin. I'm not spending as much time worrying about what I look like, or how other people are seeing me. Want to hear a crazy problem I had the other day? I have 2 bathing suits that I love and feel great in! I COULDN'T DECIDE WHICH ONE TO WEAR TO THE POOL! Because I had too many options! In swimwear! What?!?!

I spent almost the entirety of July 4th in the pool with friends; we swam, and played and splashed… and I didn't think twice about how I looked, because I'm THAT HAPPY with where I'm at.

See?
OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAI may not be ready for anyone's swimsuit edition, but before Shaklee, I certainly wouldn't have posted this photo on the internet!

  2. Yay!!! Go You!!! And I love that it isn’t about being skinny, but being comfy in your own skin. I feel you on that one. I lost 20lbs last year and while I would love to drop another 20 and am working on it. That first 20lbs was holding me back, and I didn’t realize it. I am much more confident and outgoing, before I was hiding… does that make sense? You are a babe! Always have been a babe, always will be!

  3. You look AMAZING! And this might just be the push I need to get back into it. I’ve been in such a slump and it’s embarrassing. ๐Ÿ™ Thanks for sharing your journey! Keep it up – you’re amazing!

  4. Awesome, Lizz! I should join you ladies. I need some motivation. Now that I won’t have my stressful, crazy work schedule as an excuse pretty soon, I need to get serious about becoming healthier and happier in my own skin.

  5. You have done amazing on the Shaklee program! I started back on it recently because you inspired me and because it worked for me before. I’ve just about lost those last pesky 10lbs and am looking towards my next goal…. A size 8 pair of jeans.
