It doesn't matter that I haven't seen it yet.

It's called Across the Universe and it's *finally* playing at a theater near me! I think we might actually go see it tonight (a Friday night movie! *gasp*) because I don't know that I can wait until Sunday.

Cute boys (the kid who plays Jude looks freakishly like Paul and John's love child! LOL), gorgeous Moulin Rouge-y imagery, Bono as a spiritual guru guy… all set to a Beatles soundtrack? I'm in freaking movie heaven!

It appears that parts of it were actually filmed *in* Liverpool, so I can't wait to see if we recognize any scenery… I am just looking forward to every aspect of this movie! (It might even qualify as a “film”… I'll let you know!)

If you're as into it as I am, check out YouTube for a bunch of different videos from it… do a search for “across the universe trailer” and a bunch of them pop up.

I'm really liking the versions of the songs I've hear so far… they made “If I Fell” into a beautiful, kind of sad ballad… gorgeous.

Really, the only flaw with this movie that I can see at this point is that it stars whore-y Evan Rachel Wood as Lucy.

Oh well, every movie can't be perfect, right?

ETA: The soundtrack is now available on iTunes as a single disc ($9.99) or a 2 disc “Deluxe” edition ($14.99)… it's certainly a must-have for me! ๐Ÿ˜‰

And, continuing my Beatle-riffic day, here's my latest “This is Me” journal page… it's to do a favorite quote.
Of course I had to go Beatle (well, John, anyway! LOL) and yes, I now realize that technically the quote is wrong… I left off the “happens TO YOU” part in the middle. *sigh*
Anyway, here it is!

  1. You’ll have to let me know how it is, Dh and I were discussing that there is the potentially to have it go horrifically wrong at the end.

And, I loved Evan Rachel Wood in “Once and Again”.

    I want the soundtrack.

  2. I totally want to see that. I don’t know if we will get to see it in the theater or not but we will definitely rent it. Have you heard the soundtrack from I am Sam? I love the first several tracks, but the last few are sometimes hard to listen to. ๐Ÿ™‚

  3. As soon as I saw the preview on TV I instantly thought of you. It took me a few viewings to realize what it was, but even before I realized the Beatles connection, it reminded me of you. I hope you enjoy it.
