Happy Birthday Katie!

Monday was a major milestone for Katie… she's now, in all way shape and form, a grown-up, offically 30 years old!
She had been dropping not so subtle hints for most of the spring, that she wanted a fuss made for her birthday… a couple girlfriends, Kelly and Michelle and I got into cahoots with Jason and put together a weekend of surprises for our birthday girl.

It started on Saturday afternoon, with a trip for Katie and Jason to see a “movie” (hence my mom babysitting Faith) The “movie” turned out the at the Metreon in San Francisco… from there, they went to dinner. From there, they saw Joel McHale in concert, and spent the night in the City. They woke up Sunday morning and went to see Beach Blanket Babylon.

After the Sunday matinee of BBB, they headed home to this:

We had a wonderful time, we served a taco bar (My Jamie did all the cooking! He's the BEST) and cupcakes made by Kelly, and everything was just perfect, up to and including Katie's very dramatic floor-collapsing reaction to the surprise.

I reminded Jamie on our way home that evening… only 3 more planning years until my 35th!

It was a beautiful day, but the breeze was not particularly conducive to candles…
