Valentine's Day is just like any other day around here. This year, we celebrated this “Day of Romance” by packing and having a super-romatic dinner for 3 at Ikea.
For me, February 15 is the day, thanks to a tradition Jamie started seven years ago, when we first moved into our house.
We'd only moved in a few months prior, and money was tight. Jamie had great intentions to buy flowers, but when he saw the ridiculous prices at the florist, he knew I wouldn't approve of that craziness and skipped them.
The next day, however, he appeared with a gorgeous little arrangement of roses in a vase, and a tradition was born.
Every year since then, Jamie (and now Max helps!) has brought me flowers on Feb. 15.
Sure, it's a little weird, but honestly? I think it's kinda perfect for us.
That is the sweetest! My mom works at a florist, and yes, prices get raised on flowers so arrangements get crazy.
Your tradition is so sweet!
that is the sweetest, best way to celebrate. I agree that it’s better to do it after the hubbaloo is over. And who could resist that FACE????
so glad that your “loves” were celebrating with you.
Sweet – I think I am going to talk to Ed about this tradition – makes sense to me. Love the photo, your optimistic attitude about the move and hang in there through those hideous few days of wondering where stuff is.
