All of it.

^^ That's my reply when someone asks me what kind of music I like.

Seriously.

Take a look at my iPod… put it on Party Shuffle and see what happens! You'll go from Pat Benetar to Eminem to Garth Brooks to Ani Difranco to the Who to U2 to DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince.

That's why I'm not sure what my motivation was in signing up for this CD Swap with some girlfriends. The objective is simple enough, set up a playlist and make 20 copies of it. Mail it off to the one girl who's in charge and a few weeks later, get 20 CDs back, but now they're all different!

This is such a cool idea, and a great way to find all sorts of new music and to learn about my friends.

For me, this is nothing but a challenge! I have to sum up my entire self, musically and I have only 74 minutes to do it! Aaargh!

I can't choose!

Here's my process:

OK. U2. Must have U2 on there. Which song. Well, everyone knows “Pride (In the Name of Love)” Everyone knows “Mysterious Ways” Don't want to give everyone a song they probably already have on CD somewhere!
Oh, wait…. it's possible these people *aren't* already U2 fans! Oops! Hrm… well, I should probably make sure I send off a good respresentaion of the band… oh yeah, that's easy. U2's only had a couple of hits, right? Or not. CRAP!

Moving on… who else to include. Oh. The Beatles.
*sigh*

This is a lot harder than I thought it would be!

I can, however, now say that I'm done compiling my playlist(s)
(I actually signed up for this TWICE! I'm insane.)

Of course, I listen to it, to see if anything is a glaring ommission… Indigo Girls, check. A little booty rap, check… I can't wait to send these off and see what I get back!

But damn, it's hard to distill myself down to 16 songs!

What a great idea!!! In college I had a couple friends whom I would share mixed cd’s. It was a great way to get to know them better, and I found a lot of great music I never knew about. Have fun! 🙂

Choosing my favorite U2 song is like choosing my favorite child.

Welcome, I'm so glad you're here! Thing number one, I'm tall. I've been told I should have a warning on my blog, so here it is! I am taller in real life than I appear on the internet.
